Download the Ford app via App Store® or Google Play on your device. Open the Ford app, select your country and tap Next.

You can sign in if you already have an account, or you can easily create one.

Select Create an Account.

Enter your email address and press Request Code.

Enter the 6-digit code you will receive on your email then press Submit. (If you do not see the email, check your spam/junk folder)

Fill in your first name, last name and desired password. Then tap the box after reading the terms and conditions/privacy policy and select Create Account.

Success! You have now created your very own account on the Ford app. You should be directed to the Ford app and prompted to add a vehicle to your account.

What is a connected vehicle?

A connected vehicle is connected to the Cloud using a modem and an eSim fitted within the vehicle.

What types of data do connected vehicles transmit from the vehicle?

Examples of data sent include basic vehicle information (e.g., VIN, model, year, serial numbers, time, etc.). Diagnostics of vehicle systems (e.g., oil life, fuel consumption, tire pressure, etc.), and information about the usage and performance of vehicles, features, and technology.

The data is only off boarded to Ford or a third-party service provider in order to perform services and to fulfill requests by the customer. Ford’s customers have control over data shared with Ford, including the choice to opt-out of sharing data within the in-vehicle Settings menu with several quick presses of SYNC® screen buttons.

  2. Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, parked, and in a well-ventilated (good network coverage), safe area.
  3. Confirm your Connectivity Settings are enabled within your vehicle.
  4. Open the Ford app*.
  5. Select Connect to Vehicle.
    Note: If your vehicle is equipped with the Ford app* Connect modem and the Connect to Vehicle tile does not appear, contact us through Account > Contact Help.
  6. Tap I've Started my Vehicle.
  7. Read and accept the prompt on your vehicle screen.
    Note: It may take up to two minutes for the connection to complete.
  8. Press Check Connection Status once you accept the in-vehicle prompt.

Ford app* will route you back to the Vehicle screen and the remote commands (if available) should appear below your vehicle image.

  2. Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, parked, and in a well-ventilated safe area.
  3. Tap Settings on your SYNC® screen.
  4. Scroll down and select Reset.
  5. Scroll down and select Ford app* Connect Reset.
  6. Close and reopen Ford app* once the reset is complete. (You can now connect to your vehicle again)

  2. Perform a Ford app* Connect Reset to remove user authorizations.
  3. Obtain a new or temporary device that is compatible with Ford app*.
  4. Download Ford app* from App Store®* or Google Play™*.
  5. Open Ford app* and initiate a password reset.
  6. Enter your new credentials on the Ford app* login screen after resetting your password.

How many times can I remote start my vehicle from my Ford app*?

As a safety precaution, Ford app* will only lets you Remote Start the vehicle twice in a row or once if you use Extend feature. Your lost mobile phone and email can allow access to your Ford app* account(s), which can be used to bypass your vehicle's security. Use the steps below to regain security.

  1. Secure your email used to register with Ford app* to prevent others from accessing it.
    Submit a Ford app* password reset request to send a security email confirmation to the registered email.
    Consider changing the password on your email account.
    Important: This may trigger a sign-out on other devices and applications. This helps to ensure no unauthorized person has access to your email.
  2. Perform a Ford app* Connect Reset to remove user authorizations.
  3. Obtain a new or temporary device that is compatible with Ford app*.
  4. Download Ford app* from App Store®* or Google Play™*.
  5. Open Ford app* and initiate a password reset.
  6. Enter your new credentials on the Ford app* login screen after resetting your password.
  7. Check your vehicle list once Ford app* loads.
  8. Proceed to activate your vehicle again for command-and-control access.
    Important: Only grant vehicle activation permission to accounts you know and trust.

Your lost mobile phone and email can allow access to your Ford app* account(s), which can be used to bypass your vehicle's security. Use the steps below to regain security.

  1. Secure your email used to register with Ford app* to prevent others from accessing it.
    Submit a Ford app* password reset request to send a security email confirmation to the registered email.
    Consider changing the password on your email account.
    Important: This may trigger a sign-out on other devices and applications. This helps to ensure no unauthorized person has access to your email.
  2. Perform a Ford app* Connect Reset to remove user authorizations.
  3. Obtain a new or temporary device that is compatible with Ford app*.
  4. Download Ford app* from App Store®* or Google Play™*.
  5. Open Ford app* and initiate a password reset.
  6. Enter your new credentials on the Ford app* login screen after resetting your password.
  7. Check your vehicle list once Ford app* loads.
  8. Proceed to activate your vehicle again for command-and-control access.
    Important: Only grant vehicle activation permission to accounts you know and trust.
