Advanced direct injection helps maximize power from every drop of fuel. Twin air-to-air intercooled
turbochargers provide a surge of instantaneous on-demand power. While this engine is new
to Expedition, its technology and engineering have been proven time and again in the unforgiving
working world of the Ford F-150.

The standard electronic 6-speed transmission has wide-ratio gearing for responsive low-end
performance and high-end fuel efficiency. The selectable tow/haul mode improves performance
when towing or hauling heavy loads. It compensates for grade and load and reduces gear hunting,
improving power delivery. The available SelectShift feature puts more control in your hands with its
two driver-initiated modes: Full Manual mode gives you full control to shift through the gears up
and down the gearbox; Progressive Range Select limits the range of gears while in Drive to lock out
overdrive for consistent speed over hilly terrain.

Electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) monitors driver input, vehicle speed and road conditions
and continuously adapts to the driving situation. EPAS provides an easy, fluid feel of the wheel
during low-speed maneuvers, and gradually becomes firmer as speed increases. And that’s not all.
The system can offset pulling or drifting caused by steady crosswinds or crowned road surfaces
and also damp wheel vibrations.

wheelspin. Available Control Trac® 4-Wheel-Drive System helps provide more sure-footed
traction. Standard AdvanceTrac® with Roll Stability Control™ (RSC®) uses two gyroscopic
sensors to monitor both yaw and roll rates. This allows AdvanceTrac with RSC to help you maintain
control whenever it detects wheelslip, understeer, oversteer or roll motion. It also helps maintain
control in adverse road conditions such as ice, gravel or rain. Trailer sway control (TSC) builds on
the AdvanceTrac with RSC to help maintain trailer control.

The available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alertExpedition BLIS uses radar to
identify if a vehicle is detected in your blind spot and alerts you with an indicator light in the
appropriate exterior mirror. Cross-traffic alert also uses radar to watch for traffic behind you as
you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or driveway. If cross-traffic sensors detect a vehicle
approaching from up to 15 yards away, you will be audibly and visually alerted.
