Terms and conditions
By entering your (“Applicant”) details in the Ford Motor Company Conservation & Environmental Grants application form located on www.me.ford.com, you accept the terms and conditions of the programme.
Eligibility Requirements and Rules
1.1. Employees, officers, directors, dealers and agents of Ford Motor Company and affiliated and subsidiary companies, representatives, legal advisors, any other advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies (“Programme Team”) and the immediate family or members of the same households (whether related or not) of such employees are not eligible to apply or participate in the programme.
1.2. Immediate family or relatives of members of the Ford Motor Company Conservation & Environmental Grants jury panel members are not eligible to apply or participate in the programme.
1.3. Organisations that are affiliated to members of the Ford Motor Company Conservation & Environmental Grants jury panel members may apply, provided it is explicitly mentioned in the application form. In which case, during the judging process the juror in question would be excluded from grading and discussing the entry in question.
1.4. Previous Ford Motor Company Conservation & Environmental Grants winners may reapply for funding provided they have submitted a completion report of their previously awarded project to their local juror as well as Ford Middle East and North Africa. Failure to do so will lead to disqualification from entry.
1.5. This programme accepts entries from all types of not‐for‐profit conservation initiatives that are currently being implemented or ongoing and need additional funding support. Projects that are still in the planning stages and proposals will not be considered.
1.6. Applicants can be: Individuals, Civil Society Organisations/NGOs, Schools, Colleges or Universities.
1.7. Projects that are currently being executed in the following countries can apply for grants: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and Yemen.
1.8. No purchase is necessary to enter or be selected to participate.
1.9. This programme is administered by Ford International Business Development, Inc. (“Administrator”), a branch owned by a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company.
Categories
2.1 Categories under which an applicant can apply are as follows:
- Protection of the Natural Environment ‐ Projects to conserve flora, fauna and/or their respective habitats.
- Conservation Engineering ‐ Projects to reduce the rate of consumption of natural resources and/or pollution.
- Environmental Education ‐ Projects aimed at creating or increasing environmental awareness.
- Best in Research – projects that show use of research in finding solutions to the environmental issue and implementing them
- Best in Community Engagement – projects that demonstrate involving/engaging the community to help in the environmental undertaking
- Special category grants for World Environment Day 2019 - projects that best display the theme of "Beating Air Pollution"
Deadline
3.1 Applications will be received from August 1 until October 1, 2019, 09:00PM AST (Arabia Standard Time)
3.2 Applications received after this date and time will not be considered.
Application process
4.1 Application to the Ford Motor Company Conservation & Environmental Grants can only be made online through the www.me.ford.com website. Projects sent through different channels will not be accepted.
4.2 Applicants must complete and submit entry application with all the mandatory information (photos, videos, and personal information required). By submitting the application, the applicant grants Ford Motor Company and Administrator a nonexclusive worldwide, royalty‐free license to use, copy, display publically, distribute, modify and alter any materials, including without limitation photo material, submitted in connection with the application / programme (to the extent not assigned to Ford hereunder), with the right to sublicense and assign the foregoing rights. Applicant hereby represents that they own all rights to materials, including without limitation photo / video material, submitted in connection with the application/ Programme/competition.
4.3 Applicants must comply with the following application / photo / video requirements, even after submission. Applicant warrants and represents that:
- Applicant is the sole owner and author;
- Applicant has the right to make the photo available;
- Each person depicted in the photo / video has granted permission to be portrayed as shown;
- Photo / Video does not contain personally identifiable information about Applicant or any other person(s) with the exception of their name without their consent;
- Photo / Video does not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, or illegal content;
- Photo / Video does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity, and photo does not include trademarks owned by third parties; copyrighted materials owned by third parties; names, likenesses, voices or other characteristics identifying celebrities or other public figures, living or dead.
4.4 Programme Team reserves the right to contact Applicants to ask additional questions and/or conduct phone interviews to gather additional information about Applicants. Such phone interviews are not required and are at Programme Team’s sole discretion to assist in gathering information for Participant selection.
4.5 Programme Team is not responsible for applications not received. Due to the high volume of anticipated applications, Programme Team will not be able to answer any questions about the receipt or status of any application. Programme Team assumes no responsibility and is not liable for any video / photo misuse. Programme Team assumes no responsibility for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programing associated with or utilised in the Programme, and Programme Team assumes no responsibility for technical, hardware or software failure of any kind, for lost network connections, garbled computer transmissions, other problems or technical malfunctions with regard to the competition.
4.6 Subject to applicable law, Programme Team reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify these rules or administration of /or suspend this event in whole or in part without prior notice with no obligation or liability, including if for any reason the event is not capable of running as planned, whether due to technical failure, or computer virus, tampering, fraud, or corruption of security or proper administration of the event or other causes beyond the control of the Programme Team.
4.7 By submitting an application, each Applicant agrees to release, discharge and hold the Programme Team from all claims and damages arising out of or in connection with participation in the application process or the Programme itself, and to have Applicant’s name, voice and likeness used at Programme Team’s discretion as part of the Programme, or as part of promotions arising out of or in connection with the Programme, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised as further set forth in the release and waiver at the end of the application.
Grants money
5.1 For 2019, a total of US$50,000 is available to be shared among the winning projects.
5.2 For 2019, the maximum cap for the requested grant amount is set at $12,000. Large scale projects that require bigger funding may not be considered.
5.3 The Grant amount may only be taken as declared and announced by the jury panel, and cannot be amended or negotiated.
Selection process
6.1 All applications will be judged by a jury panel of conservation experts who are not related in any way to Ford Motor Company or Administrator.
6.2 The Jury panel will select winners from any of the categories in accordance with the following judging criteria: Usefulness and Practicality, Dedication, Originality, Replicability.
6.3 The jury voting would take place virtually in October 2019. Winners will be announced in November 2019. Winners will be contacted in writing and by phone.
6.4 The judges’ decision is final.
6.5 If a winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, Grant money may be offered to the next best entry.
Compensation
7.1 Participant in the Programme will not be entitled to any compensation or employee benefits of any kind from any company, and agrees to refrain from seeking same.
Privacy
8.1 Information collected in connection with the Programme will be used in accordance with these Rules and Ford Motor Company's Privacy Policy. By submitting personally identifiable information in connection with your application, you are agreeing to the Ford Motor Company Privacy Policy. You further agree that you will not submit a photo or video containing the images or voices of any other person unless you have received prior consent from that person to such submission and his/her consent to use of the photo in connection with the Programme.
General
1. Neither Ford Motor Company nor Administrator accepts any responsibility for late or lost entries.
2. You must supply full details as required by the upload form, and comply with all rules. No responsibility is accepted for ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently.
3. As submissions are received, Administrator will vet all entries for suitability.
4. Grant decisions are final in every situation, including any not covered above, and correspondence challenging the jury panel’s decisions will not be addressed.
5. Ford Motor Company and Administrator reserve the right to modify or cancel the programme or any of the arrangements, schedules, plans or other items directly or indirectly related to the programme, at any time and for any reason if deemed necessary in its opinion.
6. You waive all claims against Ford Motor Company, Administrator, their personnel and agents, including the jury panel, arising out of any oral or written publication or republication of any statement made in connection with the present programme, your person or your entry.
7. You agree to indemnify and hold Ford Motor Company, Administrator, their personnel and agents, including the jury panel, harmless from any third party claims for loss, damage, prejudice, liability or expense suffered as a result of or in any manner in connection with your entry, any other of your acts or omissions or any information which you provided.
8. Your participation in the programme, including being selected to receive a Grant, in no manner constitutes an endorsement or support by Ford Motor Company or Administrator of your views or aims or of any products or services. You shall not advertise or otherwise claim to have obtained any such endorsement or support without the prior consent of Ford Motor Company or Administrator. The Ford Motor Company name and logo are the property of Ford Motor Company and should not be used in any manner whatsoever without the prior consent of Ford Motor Company.
Ford Motor Company or Administrator must approve in writing any statement, advertisement, press release or similar communication in any media, relating to your participation in the Competition. For additional clarification and request for approval, please write to fmegrant@ford.com.
