Your Expedition is equipped with many features designed to make life more comfortable and convenient for you and your passengers.
Finding the perfect driving position is simple in the Expedition. The front seats can be electrically adjusted using the controls on the outside panel at the base of the seat.
The steering wheel can be electrically adjusted for reach and tilt by using the control pad on the steering column, and the controls for the power side mirrors are on the driver’s door panel. You can also adjust the pedal position with a switch on the left-hand side of the steering column.
Once you’ve adjusted your seat, steering wheel, power mirrors and power adjustable pedals to your liking, you can store your settings in one of three memory function buttons on the driver’s door.
Saving a preset is easy: Just press and hold the preferred preset button until you hear a single tone. To recall your settings, simply press and release your preset button.
The wireless accessory charger allows you to charge compatible devices while remaining connected to your SYNC® 4 system without the need to plug a cable in. The charging area is on the centre console or in the media bin below the instrument.
To charge a device, simply place it on the centre of the charging surface with the charging side down. Some cases or covers may affect the charging process, so you may need to remove them. Wireless charging supports many devices but some may still need to be plugged in to charge.
Your instrument cluster can be personalised to give you the level of information you need.
MyView allows you to customise the information pages you want to access quickly. Creating these shortcuts saves you from searching through the menu lists for the detail you need.
To set up MyView, press the Menu button on your steering wheel (three horizontal lines), then toggle the OK button to select MyView, followed by Configure MyView.
Once you’ve set your shortcuts, you can access them by toggling the OK button up and down to scroll through your preset information pages.
Your second and third row seats can be folded and stowed in a number of different configurations, giving you a flexible space for passengers and cargo.
Power fold seats can be operated from a switch panel inside the rear hatch. If your Expedition is fitted with three seats in the middle row, each can be lowered and raised by pressing a dedicated button on the panel.
The third row is split 60/40. Both sides can be folded and raised together or independently, and each side also has its own switch.
Access to the third row is made easier with Expedition’s second row tilt and slide outer seats.
To operate these, first pull the lever on the top of the back rest up
With the key in your pocket or bag, the handsfree lift gate opens with a kick of the foot under the rear bumper. Just one, deliberate motion under and away from the centre of the rear bumper will trigger the lift gate.
The luggage compartment has fold down hooks in the side panels, and anchor points on the floor, to secure a cargo net to help keep things in place.
The folding luggage compartment load floor can also be used to access a storage compartment - ideal for messy items, it can be used as a rear barrier, or adapted to create a cargo shelf behind the third row seats.
The keyless entry keypad allows you to lock and unlock your vehicle using the keypad on the window trim.
The keypad is near the driver window and illuminates when you touch it. Enter the factory-set five-digit code or your personal code to unlock the vehicle and simply press the bottom two digits to lock it.
The system allows you to keep valuables safe and is especially useful if you visit the beach and don’t want to risk losing your keys in the sand.
