Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
The Electronic Stability Program (ESP)transit-custom-safety senses variation from your driving line and automatically helps correct your position on the road by reducing available torque and making brake adjustments to each wheel.
When it detects trailer sway, the system is designed to reduce engine torque and apply the brakes to the appropriate wheel(s) to help restore control.transit-custom-safety-1 transit-custom-safety-2
If wheel slip is detected at low speed, this system can distribute more torque to the wheel with the most traction.transit-custom-safety-2
Front and rear indicators automatically flash during heavy braking, giving other drivers advanced hazard warning.transit-custom-safety-2
Sudden loss of tire pressure is the first sign of a puncture. If any of your tires happen to lose pressure before or during your journey, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System gives you an immediate warning by lighting up the icon on the instrument panel.
Pretensioners reduce excess slack in the safety belt webbing against the occupants. Once sensors determine a collision is taking place, the front safety belts are tightened prior to airbag inflation, helping to keep the occupants safer.
To prevent opportunistic crime, all doors automatically lock once the vehicle speed exceeds 8 km/h. The doors remain locked even if the vehicle slows or stops, although the driver or passenger locks can be released using the interior door handles. (Can be deactivated if required.)
