Offering more processing power than ever before you can now do more with SYNC®4, and because the large 10 or 12-inch format screen is split, you can multi-task efficiently and view the information you need at the right time and access apps and features you use regularly without having to scroll through tabs and menus to find what you need.

The main display
Three buttons you will use the most.
Despite its size, your SYNC®4 screen is easy to navigate and is centered around three main buttons at the top of the screen:
The Home button
The Controls and Settings button
The Camera button
Pressing the Home button offers quick access to your SYNC®4 apps, including Radio, Phone, Navigation (if equipped), Media, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, Owner’s Manual, App Catalogue and Towing (if equipped). Once you select one of these apps it will activate and become the dominant item filling the main portion of the touch screen.
Pressing the Home button offers quick access to your SYNC®4 apps, including Radio, Phone, Navigation (if equipped), Media, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, Owner’s Manual, App Catalogue and Towing (if equipped). Once you select one of these apps it will activate and become the dominant item filling the main portion of the touch screen.
Press on this to access vehicle Controls and Settings for a huge range of safety, driver assist and other vehicle features3. It is where you can adjust settings and options for the Everest’s sound, phone list, general vehicle setting, connectivity, software updates, Ford Assistant, Zone Lighting2 and valet modes.

This gives you access to Everest’s front, rear and 360-degree camera features when required. You will also find handy features here that will help guide you when hitching up a trailer - or when driving off-road.
These buttons sit under the top portion of the screen and show you the last five apps you have used. These shortcuts help you to quickly switch between apps without having to scroll through the Apps menu every time.
At the bottom of the SYNC®4 touch screen is Everest’s Persistent Climate Bar which sits above hard controls for climate. The hard buttons and dials control about 90 percent of the climate functionality, the touch screen options give you access to all climate control features.
Incorporated into SYNC®4 is a digital copy of the owner’s manual for Everest. Select this App and you are offered a search bar to search for something specific, the option of accessing the manual via Categories, a Visual Search, or you can access previously saved pages via the Bookmarks function. You can also change the language of the manual.

Because SYNC®4 offers wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity you can leave the cords at home and connect your smartphone to the SYNC®4 touch screen without wires. There is also an available wireless charging pad for smartphones1. However, alongside the wireless charging pad are two USB outlets (USB-A and USB-C) so that you can connect your smartphone to SYNC®4, and keep it charged, using a wired connection if you like.
Because SYNC®4 offers wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity you can leave the cords at home and connect your smartphone to the SYNC®4 touch screen without wires. There is also an available wireless charging pad for smartphones1. However, alongside the wireless charging pad are two USB outlets (USB-A and USB-C) so that you can connect your smartphone to SYNC®4, and keep it charged, using a wired connection if you like.
If available on your vehicle, pressing the Off-Road button on the center console or via the Controls and Settings menu on the SYNC®4 touch screen, will take you directly to a dedicated Off-Road Screen for easy access to the 360-degree camera4 (for a variety of views, including a forward view that shows where your front wheels are tracking), driveline settings, rear differential lock activation, vehicle pitch and roll angles, hill descent control and more.
If available on your vehicle, pressing the Off-Road button on the center console or via the Controls and Settings menu on the SYNC®4 touch screen, will take you directly to a dedicated Off-Road Screen for easy access to the 360-degree camera4 (for a variety of views, including a forward view that shows where your front wheels are tracking), driveline settings, rear differential lock activation, vehicle pitch and roll angles, hill descent control and more.
While you can still use mapping apps like Google Maps from a connected smartphone, some Everest models offer native navigation which can be accessed by pressing the Home button, and then pressing Navigation.
From here you can do almost anything, like change the map format (2D or 3D, etc), pinch to zoom in or out (place two fingers on the screen and move them together to zoom in. Place two fingers on the screen and move them apart to zoom out).
