- Drive Modes Explained
Your Mach-E has three selectable drive modes that enable you to amp-up or tone down the performance of your car when needed.
In essence, drive modes are designed to make driving your Mach-E more fun.
They connect multiple vehicle systems through a single interface, providing you with enhanced vehicle control and driving dynamics for different driving scenarios, terrains, weather, or various road conditions.
You’ll find drive modes in the Settings menu. To select a drive mode, do the following:
1. Tap the Settings button on the Status bar at the top of the screen.
2. Tap the Controls button.
3. Select a mode from the three available choices.
Whisper
Whisper mode is for relaxed driving and adverse weather conditions.
This is the best mode for driving in slippery conditions.
Accelerator response is smoother at partial inputs, making acceleration and braking more comfortable for you and your passengers. The steering system and active damping system are also tuned for a more comfortable ride.
When active, Whisper mode switches the interior sound off, and the ambient lights and cluster graphics are set to blue with a graphic that starts to illuminate blue as you drive efficiently at consistent speeds.

Active mode is for everyday driving.
It’s a perfect balance of excitement, comfort and convenience. Steering and active damping are tuned for normal driving. The interior lights and cluster graphics are set to soft blue and the battery state of charge gauge shows on the instrument panel.
Untame
Untame mode is for sporty driving with improved performance handling and response.
This mode increases acceleration response and provides a strong deceleration rate when you lift off the accelerator pedal.
The steering and active damping systems are tuned for performance. The interior sound increases, and the ambient lights and cluster graphics are set to orange with a graphic that grows based on your acceleration and steering inputs.

Designed for track and closed course use only, Untame Plus is tuned for all-out performance driving.
Traction control, stability control and regenerative braking are reduced while chassis dynamics, power capability and accelerator response are tuned for confidence on the track.
The accelerator pedal calibrates for improved propulsion control and the system provides more performance orientated traction and stability control. That means there’s less intervention from both systems - so you need to be aware of this when you select this feature.
Inside, the intensity of the Propulsion Sound - sound generated by the car when you accelerate - increases, and the ambient lighting and cluster graphics switch to orange.
Notes: To use Untame Plus, you must be in Untame mode with the Untame Plus slider selected. When using this mode, One Pedal Drive is not available and other driver assistance features disable.

One-Pedal Drive
You can use the accelerator to slow the car down and bring it to a complete stop by selecting 1-Pedal Drive in the Drive Mode menu.
The accelerator works as normal as you speed up, and will slow the car as you reduce pressure on the pedal. The car will stop completely when you release the pedal entirely - but you’ll still need to use the brake pedal on a steep hill, or when you need to stop quickly.
Note: 1-Pedal Drive isn’t available in some drive modes, or when Cruise Control is active.
