Because of the powertrain layout of the Ford Mustang Mach-E there’s no engine under the bonnet, which means there’s room for a front trunk, or frunk. And it’s a handy little thing.
With more than 130 litres of storage space, the Mustang Mach-E’s frunk is big enough to hold overnight bags and, because it’s watertight and has a drain, can also be used for storing wet or muddy gear.
It’s easy to clean out and will be a hit at picnics; dump a couple bags of ice into it and use the frunk to keep your drinks cool (just remember it’s not insulated); it even has a cup holder moulded into the lining.

There are several ways to open the frunk.
The first is manually with the frunk release lever inside the cabin. Pull it twice to fully release the frunk lid. Remember, you can only manually release the frunk when the door is open and the vehicle is in Park.
The second method is by using the ‘invisible’ keypad on the outside of the driver’s door. Enter the factory passcode, which is listed in your owner’s manual, or the personal code you’ve set yourself, then press the 7-8 button within five seconds.
The frunk can also be opened via the SYNC® screen. Press the Controls button and then the icon at the top of the screen that looks like the Mach-E in profile with the frunk raised.

To close the frunk, holding the frunk lid, remove the stay if your Mach-E has one and then gently lower it down applying a little bit of force as it drops.
